Abstract
This Subpart of Part 600 of the Code of Federal Regulations regulates domestic fishing in U.S. waters under the Magnuson-Stevens Act or any other statute administered by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In particular, it imposes obligations on fishing vessels to observe existing rules on fishing and to facilitate enforcement and defined various prohibitions. It prohibits the use of any gear or participation in a fishery not on the list of authorized fisheries and gear published in this Subpart. Such allowed fisheries is specified for each Fisheries Council. The Subpart also concerns obligations in respect of observers for any fishing as part of a mandatory observer program or a voluntary observer program under the Magnuson-Stevens Act, Marine Mammals Protection Act, the Atlantic Tunas Convention Act, the South Pacific Tuna Act of 1988, or any other U.S. law.
