Abstract
This Subpart of Part 622 of the Code of Federal Regulations provides rules for commercial Gulf reef fishing. It provides, among other things for: permits and endorsements, individual fishing quota (IFQ) program for Gulf red snapper, individual fishing quota (IFQ) program for Gulf groupers and tilefishes, exemptions for Gulf groundfish trawling, recordkeeping and reporting, at-sea observer coverage, vessel monitoring systems, conservation measures for protected resources, required fishing gear, buoy gear identification, prohibited gear and methods, prohibited species, seasonal and area closures to protect Gulf reef fish, gear restricted areas, seasonal harvest limitations, size limits, bag and possession limits, quotas, restrictions on sale or purchase of fish, annual catch limits (ACLs), annual catch targets (ACTs), and accountability measures (AMs), adjustment of management measures, commercial trip limits.
