Abstract
The Climate Action Plan - Strategy to Reduce Methane Emissions is a national cross-sectoral action plan of the United States of America. Its main objective is to cut methane emissions from a number of key sources.
More specifically, the Plan aims for reducing methane emissions in landfills, coal mines, agriculture, and oil and gas; improving methane measurement; updating common sense rules to reduce landfill emissions; enhancing landfill gas-to-energy projects; reducing landfill waste; establishing a program to reduce waste coal mine emissions on public lands; overcoming barriers to reducing coal mining emissions; developing a biogas roadmap; enhancing biogas system deployment; minimizing venting and flaring on public lands; identifying policy recommendations for reducing emissions from energy infrastructure; supporting development of new technologies to reduce emissions; continuing to prioritize pipeline safety; spearheading key initiatives in the climate and clean air coalition; encouraging the development of cost-effective measurement technologies; enhancing the us greenhouse gas inventory; building our national methane monitoring network; improving local & regional emissions modeling; and improving global emissions monitoring and estimates.
