Abstract
This Amendment to the Fishery Management Plans for seven specifies fisheries (Stone Crab, shrimp, Spiny Lobster, Coastal Migratory Pelagic Resources, Coral and Coral Reef, Red Drum and Reef Fish) of the Gulf of Mexico and partly in the South Atlantic addresses the establishment of marine reserves in the vicinity of the Dry Tortugas, Florida. The purpose of this amendment is to establish fishery regulations under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act within portions of the proposed ecological reserve that reside in Federal waters. These regulations will then be adopted as Sanctuary regulations, as outlined in the Protocol for Cooperative Fisheries Management of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Management Plan (FKNMS).
