Implementation Plan for the National Health Security Strategy of the United States of America.

The Implementation Plan for the national Health Security Strategy of the United States of America is a national sectoral plan. Its vision is: national health security is achieved when the Nation and its people are prepared for, protected from, respond effectively to, and are able to recover from incidents with potentially negative health consequences. More specifically, the Plan aims to foster informed, empowered individuals and communities; develop and maintain the workforce needed for national health security; ensure situational awareness; foster integrated, scalable health care delivery systems; ensure timely and effective communications; promote an effective countermeasures enterprise; ensure prevention or mitigation of environmental and other emerging threats to health; incorporate post-incident health recovery into planning and response; work with cross-border and global partners to enhance national, continental, and global health security; and ensure that all systems that support national health security are based on the best available science, evaluation, and quality improvement methods.
This Implementation Plan concerns the following topics: all-hazards; biosafety; biosecurity; environmental hazards; emerging threat; food safety; health incident; health care organisation; National Disaster Medical System (NDMS); Non-traditional plants and animals; One Health initiative; public health; risk analysis; zoonotic infections.
