Abstract
"Indian lands" means lands within the limits of Indian reservations, dependant Indian communities, and Indian allotments (sect. 3). The Act applies also to Alaska Native Lands. The Director of Indian Health Service shall conduct an inventory of open dumps. The Director shall also be responsible for a 10-year development plan and annual reports to Congress on Indian solid waste deficiencies, progress made in addressing such deficiencies and funding (sect. 4). An inventory shall also take place on request of an Indian tribal government or Alaska Native Entity (sect. 5). The Director may establish and carry out a program providing for demonstration projects involving open dumps on Indian land (sec.7). (9 sections)
