Abstract
Part 109 of Title 21 of the Federal Code of Regulations (entitled Unavoidable contaminants in food for human consumption and food-packaging material) provides for specific rules concerning the presence and tolerance of specific contaminants in food and food-packaging material (human consumption).
This Regulation closely defines the necessary specifications for the establishment of tolerances, regulatory limits, and action levels; rules for added poisonous or deleterious substances; rules for the use of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s) in establishments that manufactures food-packaging materials; rules for ornamental and decorative ceramicware; rules establishing the tolerances for unavoidable poisonous or deleterious substances; tolerance limits for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s); regulatory limits for added poisonous or deleterious substances; and rules regarding the naturally poisonous or deleterious substances present in foodstuff.
