Abstract
This Chapter of the Minnesota Statutes concerns wells, borings, and underground uses. The Chapter is intended to protect the health and general welfare by providing a means for the development and protection of the natural resource of groundwater in an orderly, healthful, and reasonable manner. The Chapter further provides for powers and duties of commissioner of health; waste prevention may be required; advisory council on wells and borings; local authority over wells and borings; applicability to mining activities; well construction and ownership; well sealing; elevator borings; licensing and registration; exploratory borings; groundwater thermal exchange devices; bored geothermal heat exchangers; underground space development; and underground storage of gas or liquid.
