Abstract
The Parties shall cooperate in the area of plant quarantine, undertaking all necessary measures to prevent the introduction and spread of pests with transported products subject to quarantine inspection. The competent authorities of the Parties shall exchange information on the discovery and spread of pests and the adoption of pest control measures. The Parties shall provide each other with scientific, technical and consulting assistance in order to identify, localize and eradicate pests. Each lot of products subject to quarantine inspection shall be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate. In the event either Party discovers pests during phytosanitary inspection, it shall have the right to either disinfect or destroy the infested lot on the spot. Wood-wool, sawdust, paper, plastic and other materials that may harbour quarantine pests shall not be used for packing materials that must be free of soil.

Entry into force notes
This Agreement enters into force from the date of notice that all internal procedures required for its effectiveness have been fulfilled.
Notes
This Agreement shall be valid for five years and shall be automatically extended for one or more five-year periods unless, six months prior to the end of any such period, either Party provides the other with written notice of termination. The Agreement entered into force for Uzbekistan on 8 January 2004.
