Abstract
The Parties agreed that the use of the water resources of the Amudarya river basin should be carried out on the basis of international law, as well as taking into account the interests of all countries in the basin. The Parties, if necessary, will develop mechanisms for joint management, protection and rational use of the water resources of the Amudarya River, and, if necessary, consider the possibility of attracting international organizations. The Parties consider it important to develop a convention, agreement and/or other legal documents for the management, protection and rational use of water resources in the Amudarya river basin. Each of the Parties, if it is necessary to build or reconstruct hydrotechnical or water management facilities on transboundary river Amudarya on the territory of its state will coordinate its actions with the other Party.

This Agreement shall enter into force from the date of its signing and shall be valid until the expiration of two months from the date of receipt by one of the Parties of a written notification of the other Party of its intention to terminate it.
