Agreement between the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation on water management issues.

The Parties shall develop cooperation in order to take joint actions to ensure the proper operation, maintenance and safety of water facilities located on the territory of the States of the Parties. The Parties carry out close cooperation in the field of water management and for this purpose: (a) take joint actions to improve the water supply of the Parties; (b) provide assistance to each other in ensuring the proper operation and safety of water management facilities located on the territory of the states of the Parties; (c) carry out joint measures to protect interstate water facilities and territories located in the zone of their influence from the adverse effects of floods, mudflows and other natural phenomena; (d) organize the conduct of scientific research, survey work in the field of operation, maintenance and safety of water facilities for interstate use, reclamation improvement of irrigated land; (e) take the necessary measures to organize advanced training courses, seminars, internships and other training programs for water management specialists of the Parties; and (f) consider and take appropriate measures to resolve other water management issues of mutual interest.
