Abstract
The leaders of the water management of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on the need for optimal management of the river flow and prompt resolution of issues of water distribution in the lower reaches of the Amudarya River, agreed on the following: (a) strictly observe water withdrawal limits set by the previous joint decisions on the distribution of available water resources in the lower reaches of the river; (b) it is forbidden to make a unilateral decision to change the amount of water discharged by Tuyamuyun hydroelectric complex (TMGU) according to the protocol decision; (c) considering the weather conditions and the rate of agricultural work, the water intake to the Parties for the coming period (15 days) can be accepted upon its application, on condition that it is provided with water intake in the amount of one monthly limit established according to the decision of Interstate Commission for Water Coordination of Central Asia; and (d) for each appeal of one side, the other side immediately responds and develops a joint operational solution to the tasks set in the appeal.
