Decree No. 138 of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures for effective organization of production and industrial processing of licorice and other medicinal plants.”

This Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, with a view of further ensuring effective organization of manufacturing and processing of licorice and other medicinal plants, increasing the attractiveness of the industry for business entities, as well as increasing the volume of production of finished export-oriented products with high added value, assigns the following tasks to the Association of organizations for production and processing of licorice and other medicinal plants: (a) participation in the formation and coordination of programs for integrated development of production and processing of licorice and other medicinal plants, assistance in carrying out the unified scientific research and development, technological, investment and export policy in this area; (b) continuous increase in the production of licorice and other medicinal plants by creating specialized plantations in areas that are conducive to their growth, including the introduction of intensive cultivation technologies and rational use of natural growing grounds; (с) assistance in the efficient organization of cooperation between business entities and public administration for the creation of plantations, deep industrial processing and production of export oriented produce with high added value; and (d) participation in drafting regulatory legislative acts related to growing and processing of licorice and other medicinal plants, and performance of public environmental audit.
