Decree No. 213 of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures for further development of forest sector in Kashkadarya region”.

This Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, with a view of rational uses of ineffective land plots in the mountains, foothills and steppe zones n Kashkadarya region, sets up state institution Kumtor River State Forestry, assigning thereto the following tasks: (a) afforestation, protection and rational management of forest resources; (b) establishment of plantations of pistachio, almond and medicinal plants and establishment of nurseries on allocated land; (c) development and implementation of measures for reforestation, reproduction of protection forests, establishment of anti-erosion forest plantations on mountain slopes and desert areas; and (d) protection and control of forests against fires, pests and diseases, illegal logging and other violations of forest legislation.
