Decree No. 647 of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures for the regulation of the functioning of special facilities for disposal and storage of toxic chemicals and other toxic substances in the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

The Cabinet of Ministers, with a view to prevent harmful effects of toxic chemicals on health of citizens and the environment, and to ensure in special facilities safe storage of toxic chemicals and toxic substances, decrees to determine a set of measures related to conservation and reconstruction of special facilities, relocation of arsenic waste, including the development of design estimates (working projects) at the expense of the State budget within the program of development of social and industrial infrastructure of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Current maintenance costs of special facilities shall be covered by Fund for Ecology, Environmental Protection and Waste Management and other sources envisaged by acting legislation. Current maintenance costs of new special site destined for relocation of arsenic waste for disposal and storage thereof shall be financed from the local budget. Chemical analysis of soil and groundwater in places of disposal and storage of toxic chemicals and other toxic substances shall be performed quarterly jointly by sanitary-epidemiological authority and public health service.
