Law No. ZRU-746 “On amendments and addenda to Law on protection of consumers’ rights (1996).

Law on protection of consumers’ rights (1996) shall be amended to add the following wording: “Information about the manufacturer (performer, seller), rules of trade and service is provided to the consumer in the state language. This information may also be additionally provided in other languages. This information can be communicated to consumers on labels, markings, technical documentation of goods or in another way adopted for certain types of goods (works, services). The Agency for the Protection of Consumer Rights under the Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its territorial bodies, within the limits of its powers: (a) carries out the development and practical implementation of a unified state policy in the field of consumer rights protection; (b) coordinates the activities of government bodies and organizations in the field of consumer rights protection; (c) conducts inspections (without interfering in financial and economic activities) of business entities in the presence of facts of violation of legislation on the protection of consumer rights; (d) carries out state control over compliance with legislation on the protection of consumer rights; and (e) sends an order to the manufacturer (performer, seller) to eliminate deficiencies that violate consumer rights”.
