Law No. ZRU-871 “On amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of land legislation.”

Article 8 (1) of the Law on lease (1991) shall be amended to add the following wording: “Rights and obligations regarding agricultural land plots can be transferred by the tenant to another person (sublease) only in cases envisaged by law. Article 17 of the Land Code shall be amended to add the following wording: “Foreign citizens and legal entities, stateless persons, enterprises with foreign investments may exercise rights to a land plot only on lease, except for the cases provided for in part two of Article 18 of Land Code”. Article 24 of Land Code shall be amended to add the following wording: “Land plots leased cannot be an object of purchase and sale, donation, exchange, except in cases provided for in part nine of this article”. Article 30 (2) of Land Code shall be amended to add the following wording: “The participants in servitude are landowners, land users, lessees, tenants and owners of land plots and the person in whose interests the servitude is established”. Article 13 of the Law No. ZRU-728 “On privatization of non-agricultural land” shall be amended to add the following wording: “Foreign citizens, stateless persons, foreign legal entities, enterprises with foreign investments, as well as government bodies, institutions, enterprises and bodies of citizens' self-government are not subjects of privatization.”
