Order No. 24 of the Ministry of Justice validating the Regulation on legalization, submittal and consideration of applications for a patent for a selection achievement.

This Regulation establishes the procedure for legalization, submittal and consideration of applications for a patent for a selection achievement. Registration and patent issuing authority shall be state institution "Center for Intellectual Property" under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The application must contain: (a) an application for the granting of a patent indicating the author (co-authors) and the person(s) in whose name the patent is sought, as well as their place of residence or address; (b) proposal for the name of the selection achievement; (c) description of selection achievement (technical questionnaire); (d) photos of selection achievement samples; (e) documents on tests of selection achievements carried out by the applicant; (f) a statement from the applicant confirming that the selection achievement was not used, sold, or transferred to another person and meets the requirements of the innovation; (g) a document confirming the stability of the selection achievement (if necessary); (h) the obligation of the applicant to submit the material to a specialized organization for testing of the selection achievement within the prescribed period; (i) a power of attorney issued by her/him when filing an application through a patent representative or an authorized representative; and (k) a document confirming the grounds for exemption from payment of the patent duty, as well as a reduction in its amount.
