Presidential Decree No. UP-5303 “On measures to further ensure food security of the country.”

The President, in order to further ensure food security of the country, saturating the market with high-quality, safe and affordable foodstuffs, strengthening purchasing power of the population, liberalization of foreign economic activity and development of healthy competitive environment, as well as the eradication of existing systemic problems in this field, decrees as follows: (a) to cancel individual customs duties from February 1, 2018, tax and other benefits, as well as other preferences provided to individual business entities for import into the Republic of Uzbekistan of foodstuffs; (b) to prohibit the adoption by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of decisions providing to individual economic entities of individual customs, tax and other benefits, as well as other preferences for the import of foodstuffs into the country; and (c) in case of violation of the requirements of this Resolution guilty persons bear responsibility as provided by law, up to criminal.
