Presidential Decree No. UP-6033 “On improvement of the system of management in the field of manufacturing and regulation of circulation of alcohol and tobacco products.

The President, with a view of the development of the winemaking industry, to implement modern management of manufacturing and trade of alcohol and tobacco products, increasing production and export volumes, and suppression of illegal turnover of liquors and tobaccos, decrees to constitute Regulatory Agency of Alcohol and Tobacco Market and Promotion of Viticulture assigning thereto the following functions: (a) implementation of state policy in the field of manufacturing and trade of alimentary and technical alcohol and the development of viticulture; (b) improvement and increase of viticulture products; (c) expansion of grape growing areas and modernization of the national winemaking enterprises; (d) creation of the national brand of Uzbek wines and promotion thereof on international markets; (e) monitoring of the volume of manufacturing of alcohol; (f) licensing of wholesale trade of liquors; and (g) supervision over compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
