Presidential Decree No. PP-121 “On measures to further develop livestock farming and strengthen the animal feed supply.”

The President, in order to further develop the livestock sector, ensure financial support for livestock farms, further increase the feed supply, as well as organize the raising of livestock by the population in their own backyard on the basis of joint activities with large livestock farms and processors of livestock products and meet the demand for feed supply, decrees that volumes of land area, in which subjects producing cotton and grain shall ensure crop rotation on 10 percent of 2 million hectares of irrigated land area, according to Appendix No. 1. The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional self-government bodies, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, at the expense of developed and empty land areas, shall ensure, on the basis of an open electronic competition, the transfer of land for lease for fodder crops to enterprises for the production and processing of meat and dairy products that have organized the supply of livestock to households through cooperation and processing produced livestock products, in proportion to the number of livestock, with the condition of supplying animal feedstuffs to the population; in order to fully satisfy consumer demand for meat and dairy products in areas with a shortage of irrigated land for growing fodder, shall ensure that within the borders of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions, the allocation of irrigated land to economic entities that have established the production and processing of meat and dairy products through cooperation based on an open electronic competition in one area for organizing the production of meat and dairy products through cooperation, as well as in another area - for growing feed crops. At the same time, all benefits defined by this Resolution are applied to entities operating through cooperation. In particular, loan funds from international financial institutions attracted for livestock farming are provided for a period of 10 years, including a grace period of 3 years. Livestock farms that are tax payers of value added size, the amount of the subsidy for each kilogram of live weight of large and small livestock raised on their own farms and together with households through cooperation and sold for meat, as well as for each liter of milk, is doubled.
