Presidential Decree No. PP-141 “On measures to improve the management of the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes.”

The President, for the purpose of efficient operation, improvement of environmental situation, meeting the population's needs for fish and fish products, organizing the systematic use of the tourism potential of the Aydar-Arnasay lake system, as well as strengthening the protection of flora and fauna in the region, decrees to reorganize the State Unitary Enterprise "Directorate of Aydar-Arnasay lake system" under the State Tax Committee into a limited liability company "Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes" subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources and to transfer the Aydar-Arnasay lake system located on the territory Jizzakh and Navoi regions, for separate management on an ongoing basis reorganized in accordance with the established procedure into LLC "Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes" in order to develop the fishing industry. LLC "Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes" shall perform the following tasks: (a) creation and maintenance of the activities of incubation workshops and fry rearing workshops on the territory of the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes for breeding fish fry for subsequent stocking of waterbodies; (b) gradual formation of technological processes for increasing volume of fish catch, export-oriented production and competitive fish products; (c) increasing the volume of fish catch through the use of modern technologies for intensive fishfarming, including widespread introduction of the cage method, as well as increasing productivity of natural reservoirs; (d) creation of new hatcheries for breeding fish larvae, increasing the volume of fish fry breeding, modernization and expansion of operating ponds for growing fish fry; and (e) construction of modern tourist infrastructure facilities (beach tourism, water recreation tourism, walking paths along coasts of lakes, hotel complexes, health, shopping, entertainment and other tourist facilities) in the territory of lake systems, creating the conditions necessary for the provision of services to tourists, as well as the development of non-commercial and sport fishing.
