Presidential Decree No. PP-226 “On additional measures to ensure compliance with legislation on environmental protection in the Jizzakh region.”

The President decrees to create a specialized prosecutor's office to oversee the implementation of legislation on environmental protection and eliminating the illegal use of land in the Jizzakh region. The main tasks pf the specialized prosecutor’s office shall be as follows: (a) establishment of constant supervision over the implementation and enforcement of legislation aimed at protecting nature, rational use and protection of land for recreational purposes forest and water fund lands, including land of Zaamin National Natural Park and Zaamin state reserve; (b) taking constant measures to protect nature, prevent unauthorized seizure of healthcare and recreational land; (c) performance of constant monitoring of the targeted and effective use of forest and water fund land; (d) providing assistance in the implementation of established tasks on further development of the potential of eco-tourism on the territory of the tourist and recreational zone "Zomin", the creation favorable conditions for tourist trips, organizing new tourist routes, further increase in tourist flow; and (e) taking measures for early detection and prevention of cases of violations of legislation in the field of environmental protection and land-use.
