Presidential Decree No. PP-278 “On measures to expand agricultural land and increase the volume of agricultural production in the Jizzakh region.”

The President, in order to effectively use available land and water resources, increasing production volumes of agricultural commodities with wide involvement of domestic opportunities, implementation of promising projects, ensuring employment, further increase in incomes and living standards of the population, as well as creating a favorable agribusiness environment in the Jizzakh region, decrees as follows: (a) in the Jizzakh region in 2022-2026 shall be developed and introduced under crops more than 60 thousand hectares of land for placement in circulation in these areas of vegetables, melons, oleaginous plants, legumes, fodder and medicinal plants, as well as planting orchards and vineyards; (b) on new land being developed and re-entered into circulation land areas: shall be cultivated agricultural commodities using the cooperative method (by creating a system for supplying seeds and seedlings, assigning an agronomist, purchasing, storing and exporting finished products); for the purpose of efficient use of water resources, increasing volumes of cultivation, processing and export of agricultural commodities are placed on entire areas destined for plantation method; and (c) new development and re-introduction of land areas into circulation are carried out on the basis of the relevant conclusion issued by the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources about the state of groundwater on these land areas.
