Presidential Decree No. PP-5090 “On measures to organize the activities of the State Inspectorate for Control over the Safety of Water Resources under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

This Presidential Decree establishes that the main tasks of the State Inspectorate for Control over the Safety of Water Resources under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan as follows: (a) control over safety, reliable operation and protection of water reservoirs, mudflow reservoirs and other objects of water economy with a high level of risk; (b) coordination of placement, design assignments and rules of operation of water facilities with a high level of risk, as well as the development of rules and criteria for their safety; (c) participation in the construction, reconstruction, acceptance for operation, conservation and liquidation, as well as the issuance of relevant conclusions on water management facilities with high level of risk; (d) introduction of modern technologies and best practices in activities on determining the level of safety of water facilities with high level of risk; and (e) participation in the implementation of a set of mitigation measures of the negative impact of water management facilities with a high level of risk to the population and sectors of the economy in emergency situations.
