Resolution No. 128 of the Minister of Agriculture and Water Management validating the Regulation on the procedure for the sale of pedigree stock to smallholders and farms through auction.

Auctions of pedigree livestock are held in order to accelerate the development of pedigree livestock farming in breeding farms, implement achievements in the field of pedigree selection, increase the competitiveness and economic profitability of breeding farms when selling pedigree livestock. Breeding cattle are sold through open auctions. Auction trading is an independent event, and the auction program may include an exhibition of breeding livestock and a fair. Smallholders, farmers and family farms can apply to participate in the auction for the purchase of breeding stock. The auction organizer carries out its activities on the basis of a contract concluded with the seller. The contract states the following: (a) breed and number of livestock, individual identification numbers and names of which are registered; (b) place where livestock is kept (domestic premises); (c) the initial price of each head of livestock; (d) amount of incentives (commission, etc.); (e) place, time and procedure for the auction; (f) the amount of deposit paid by the participants; (g) mutual settlements and responsibilities of the parties; and (h) other conditions that do not contradict the law.
