Resolution No. 6 of the State Committee on Forestry validating the Regulation on genetic (variety) and seed control, laboratory testing and expertise of forest seeds.

This Regulation shall be applicable to forest seeds. It establishes seed control procedure, involving the following processes: (a) collecting or importing seeds for planting; (b) performance of laboratory analysis; (c) storage before sowing; (d) planting; and (e) maintenance of forestry crops during the growing season. Variety of seeds of forestry plants shall be verified by means of testing and laboratory tests. Control of the process of seed collection shall be performed by general agrotechnical methods, without mixture of varieties. Control of seed purity shall be performed through qualitative organization of technological processes. The technical equipment must have operating instructions. Storage, packaging and labelling of seeds shall be performed under control. Packaging shall be performed so as to prevent damage to seeds. The following information shall be indicated on labels: (a) the name of seed-producing entity for carrying out the variety tests in the laboratory; (b) type; (c) form; (d) grade; (e) reproduction; (f) degree of purity; (g) planting procedure; (h) harvest year; (i) batch number; (j) purity of the variety; and (k) reference data of the document, time of issue. Expertise and seed control shall be performed in the authorized laboratories, which must be selected and accredited in accordance with acting legislation. The quality of forest seeds shall be assessed through analysis of compliance with technical regulations.
