Resolution No. PP-3617 of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to create ferula plantations in the country, increase the volume of processing of its raw materials and export.”

The Cabinet of Ministers, in order to ensure stable use of medicinal plant stocks, growing naturally in the flora of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in in particular, organizing plantations of some medicinal plants, increasing the volume of processing of their raw materials and export, to constitute the Association of ferula producers and exporters for the purpose of organizing on the national territory of ferula plantations (Ferula foetida, Ferula tadshikorum) and increasing the volume of processing of their raw materials and export. The main objectives of the Association are: (a) preparation of proposals for organizing the cultivation of ferula on plantations, taking into account compliance with natural and climatic conditions of the national territory and supply of finished products; (b) taking measures to increase the volume of industrial cultivation of ferula in the regions, preparation of proposals for conducting marketing research in order to expand product markets, increasing export volumes; (c) preparation of ferula seeds and supply to organizations creating plantations; (d) providing methodological assistance and developing recommendations for organizing a plantation and growing raw materials for ferula plantation organizers; (e) conducting research work on implementation into the process of growing ferula developed innovative technologies; (f) organization of special preparatory training courses for specialists involved in growing ferula according to the correct implementation of agrotechnical measures; and (g) development for organizations that are members of the Association of proposals for improving the regulatory framework, providing comprehensive assistance by attracting foreign investment, in particular, funds from international financial institutions.
