Abstract
The National Energy Policy is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. The overall goal of this Policy is to effectively plan and manage the national energy sector in order to achieve sustainable supply and use of energy. This Policy lays down strategies on (I) the efficient and sustainable use and management of imported and natural energy sources, (II) establishment of a database on all energy-relevant aspects, (III) improved decision-making and effective coordination, (IV) the delivery of efficient and cost-effective energy services, (V) the designation of a governmental authority responsible for the management of the energy sector, (VI) public awareness-raising on energy sector issues, including in particular conservation, efficiency and use of renewable energy sources, and (VII) the development, implementation and funding of the energy policy.
