Circular No. 02/2002/TT-BTS guiding the implementation of Government’s Decree No. 86/2001 on the conditions for conducting aquatic resources production and business lines.

The Circular rules for the implementation of Decree No. 86/2001/ND-CP dealing with the exploitation of aquatic resources, their production (aquaculture), their processing resulting in fish products to be consumed as food or as fishfeed, the environmental, veterinary and sanitary standards for production, and the requirements for facilities where they are produced/processed. Appendix I lists out the standards actually in use for conducting production and business of aquatic products. Implementations deal mostly with the exemption from the previous provisions contained in Decree No. 86/2001/ND-CP if and when same conditions apply to both individuals and manufacturers of aquatic resources; permits for their exploitation; provisional exploitation areas; production of aquatic breeds; provisions on environmental protection.
