Decision No.126/2005/QD-TTg on a number of policies to encourage development of aquaculture on sea and islands.

The purpose of this Decision is to create favourable conditions for the investment in aquaculture on sea and islands in order to actively contribute to the protection of on-shore aquatic resources, to make on-sea aquaculture a major industry and to bring into play advantages and potentials of coastal localities. The People's Committees shall assign or lease land or sea water surfaces for aquaculture. There will be a central and a local budget which shall invest and support the investment in projects as described in article 3.
