Abstract
This Law governs trading activities conducted inside the territory of Vietnam. Commercial activities are defined as all activities for profit-making purposes, including not only transactions involving the sale or purchase of goods and other related activities but also those relating to the provision of services, investment, trade promotion and other commercial activities conducted within Viet Nam and abroad.
The Law provides fundamental principles in commercial activities, and for rights and obligations of foreign traders conducting commercial activities in Viet Nam. It sets out general provisions on activities of purchase and sale of goods and of provision of services, on rights and obligations of parties to contract for the purchase and sale of goods and to service contracts, and on the purchase and sale of goods through the Goods Exchange.
The Law further provides for: commercial promotion; intermediary activities in commerce; commercial remedies and resolution of commercial disputes; handling of violations of commercial law; etc.
