Abstract
The Act regulates the importation of any living creature with the exception of plants and human beings and including arachnids, birds, fish, insects and reptiles and meat, eggs, dairy and other products of animal origin including semen and eggs for hatching. Part II concerns the importation of animals. The importation into Vanuatu from any country of origin through any customs channel, including transit of animals other than dogs, cats, bovines, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, rabbits and farmyard birds is hereby prohibited unless specific written permission has been obtained from the principal veterinary officer for such importation. Importation of infected animals and other specified imports are prohibited. Part III specifies prohibited imports of products of animal origin and miscellaneous products. Miscellaneous products include semen and embryos of livestock animals and hatching eggs.
