Abstract
This Act amends the Customs Act No. 7 of 2013. It inserts, after section 159, a section 159A on assistance to police. This section states that: (i) a customs officer can facilitate or take part in any lawful operation of investigation by a police offer; and (ii) a customs officer who facilitates, takes part or assists with a controlled delivery under section 19 of the Police Power Act is not criminally liable for conduct that would otherwise constitute an offence against this Act if that conduct is carried out by the customs officer in the faithful exercise of her/her duties.
