Abstract
The Physical Planning (Amendment) Act No. 26 of 2021 enhances the management of land development in designated areas under the existing Physical Planning Act [CAP 193]. It mandates the declaration of Physical Planning Areas by Councils, encompassing considerations like sustainability, climate change, and community consultation. Within these areas, the Act necessitates the formulation of comprehensive Zoning and Development Control Plans, standardizes decision-making processes, and establishes mechanisms for appeals and ministerial oversight to ensure effective and sustainable development practices. The Act consists of 16 Articles.
