Abstract
The Policy focuses on ensuring that all people have access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food to support healthy lives, while addressing the country’s triple burden of malnutrition, i.e. overweight, underweight & micronutrient deficiencies. Its vision emphasizes sustainable, resilient, and nutrition-sensitive food systems, supported by multi-sectoral coordination. Key goals include improving food production and availability, promoting healthy diets, strengthening food safety systems, and enhancing nutrition services, especially for vulnerable groups. Implementation is carried out through coordinated actions across agriculture, health, and community sectors, including public awareness, nutrition programs, and monitoring and surveillance systems. The implementing plan emphasizes implementation between national and provincial levels, supported by annual operational planning, monitoring, and evaluation systems to track progress and adjust interventions as needed.
