Abstract
The Vanuatu National Implementation Plan for Safe and Secure Community Drinking Water is a guidance which focuses on water supply and service delivery to communities, the development and implementation of the National Drinking Water Safety and Security Planning (DWSSP), and community-led improvements for building resilience. The National DWSSP aims at engaging communities in identifying and discussing threats to safe and secure drinking water and and making plans to manage these threats. For the purposes of the National DWSSP, a community drinking water supply refers to water supply schemes owned and operated by the community as defined in the Water Resources Management (Amendment) Act No. 32 of 2016. The National DWSSP includes Community-level DWSSP and coordinates the activities for the provision of safe and secure community drinking water at the community, area/ward council, provincial government, and the Government levels.
