Abstract
This Act concerns the conservation, protection and development of the natural resources on Samoa. The 75 sections of this Act are divided into 10 Parts, i.e.: Preliminary (I); Administration (II); State Forestry Land (III); Licences, Leases, Permits, etc. (IV); Forest Produce (V); Protection Against Fires (VI); Further Offences (VII); Protected Land (VIII); Forestry Division Administration of Private Forests (IX); Miscellaneous (X).

An Act to consolidate and to amend the Law relating to the conservation, protection and development of the natural resources on Samoa, especially soil, water and forest, and to enable effect given to the following principles and objectives: (a) to maintain and establish where necessary, areas of forest adequate to protect climate, soil and water resoureces of the country; (b) as far as possible to provide, on a sustained yield basis, the forest produce requirements of the people and the industry of the country and to encourage an export trade; (c) to ensure the best use of all forest lands for the general benefit of the country.
