Abstract
The Corporate Plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for 2023–2027 sets the strategic direction for strengthening sustainable agriculture and fisheries in Samoa, outlining a vision of the Ministry as the national leader in sustainable sector development and a mission focused on evidence‑based policy, research and service delivery. It presents six strategic goals and twenty‑seven strategies aimed at improving resilience, food and nutrition security, community development for farmers and fishers, private‑sector growth and export readiness, sector support systems and internal organisational performance. Key measures include promoting good agricultural practices, advancing climate‑resilient and biosecurity actions, improving extension services, establishing a national seed bank, supporting value chains and export processes, encouraging partnerships and expanding targeted research. Implementation relies on defined performance indicators, regular monitoring and reporting cycles, mid‑term and annual reviews, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, strengthened data systems and collaboration with development partners.
