Prime Minister's Resolution No. 165 of 2001 concerning the fortification of oil and margarine with vitamin (A and D) and the fortification of wheat flour with iron and folic acid.

This Resolution, comprising 11 articles, aims to regulate food fortification (including oil, margarine with vitamins A and D, and wheat flour with iron and folic acid) to safeguard human health by establishing permissible levels. Article 4 mandates that food must be packaged appropriately to preserve its formula, quality, cleanliness, and safety, shielding it from harmful agents or pollutants. This ensures the nutritional specifications are maintained against humidity, light, and airflow. Article 5 specifies that to prevent spoilage and protect fortified components, food must be kept away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and excessive humidity. This Resolution does not apply to (i) raw oil imported for refining purposes; (ii) preparations by manufacturers within Yemen for human consumption; (iii) oil products intended for non-human consumption. Article 9 outlines penalties for violations of this Resolution.
