Biodiversity Management Plan for African Lion (Panthera Leo) (G.N. No. 1190 of 2015).

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs, made under section 43(1) {b)(i) read with section 43(3) of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004, sets out a biodiversity management and conservation plan for the African Lion (Panthera Leo). The Plan concerns, among other things, protection, monitoring, permitting and stock control, sustainability and biological management, captive breeding and disease control, and makes reference to various international legal instruments, notably CITES, the Convention on Biological Diversity and the SADC Protocol on Wildlife Conservation and Law Enforcement.
