Abstract
This Notice, made by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture under section 8 of the Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act, establishes a Soil Conservation Scheme. establishes a Flood Relief Scheme. The objects of the Scheme shall be to promote the construction of certain soil conservation works with a view to conserve the production potential of agricultural land and to combat soil erosion. Subsidies may be paid to participants in the Scheme in respect to soil conservation works at all land except land defined in section of the Act and to works classified as drainage works, protection works, veld utilisation works or drought relief works. Works may be classified as such by the executive officer if they comply with certain requirements and the executive officer shall give his or her consent to repair works. Entry of farm units shall be approved by the executive officer. The Regulations set out the conditions at which subsidy shall be paid and reporting and other obligations of those who receive such subsidies.
