Control Measures Relating to Fall Armyworm (G.N. No. 449 of 2017).

This Government Notice requires very user of land in South Africa to immediately notify the executive officer and /or authority of any occurrence or suspected occurrence of fall armyworm and requires the executive officer, upon national pest reporting, to immediately - (a) take necessary phytosanitary procedures or action to identify and confirm the presence of fall armyworm in an area; (b) prescribe or specify phytosanitary measures to be complied with by the user of land and /or land owner. Any user of land must take all reasonable measures as prescribed or specified in the relevant guidelines or action plans (which may be issued by the executive officer) to manage and control fall armyworm.
