Abstract
These Regulations, made under the Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008, concern control of vehicles as defined by these Regulations in the coastal area (also defined by these Regulations). No person may use a vehicle in the coastal area without an authorisation granted under these Regulations. "Coastal area" includes dunes, lagoons, mangroves and wetlands. The Regulations determine permissible uses of vehicles. A permit o use a vehicle in the coastal area may be issued by the Minister for the purposes of, among other things, carrying out a non-recreational activity in terms of a right, permit or exemption granted under the Act, the Marine Living Resources Act, 1998 or the Sea Fishery Act, 1988. Exemptions also concern participation in a fishing competition.
