Designation of the competent authority who may issue authorisation for the undertaking of identified activities (GN R 1184 of 1997).

With this Notice, the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism designates the competent authority, as defined in section 1 of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, in each province as an authority which may issue a written authorization to undertake or cause to undertake an activity that may have a substantial detrimental effect on the environment identified in Government Notice R 1182 of 1997, in so far as the Regulations published in Government Notice R 1183 of 1997 may be applied by such competent authority.
