Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations Listing Notice 2 of 2014 (No. R. 984 of 2014).

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs identifies activities that require environmental authorization prior to commencement. It also identifies competent authorities for purposes of sections 24(2) and 24D of the National Environmental Management Act. Investigation, assessment and communication of potential impact of activities must follow the procedure as described in regulations 22 to 24 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014. Activities include: development and related operation of facilities or infrastructure for nuclear reaction including energy generation, the production, enrichment, processing, reprocessing, storage or disposal of nuclear fuels, radioactive products, nuclear waste or radioactive waste; the development and related operation of facilities or infrastructure for the bulk transportation of dangerous good; waste water and sewerage works; coastal zone development and the physical alteration of virgin soil to agriculture, or afforestation for the purposes of commercial tree, timber or wood production of 100 hectares or more. Where Listing Notice 4 applies, an application for environmental authorisation must be submitted for an activity contemplated in that Notice and not for an activity contemplated in this Notice.
