Abstract
This Statutory Measure aims to establish a legal framework for milk producers to maintain records and submit returns to the Milk Producers' Organization. This requirement is essential for ensuring the availability of continuous, timely, and accurate statistics and information about the dairy farming industry to all stakeholders. Recordkeeping will generate detailed statistics on the dairy cattle population by province and district, including data on the numbers and breeds of cows, bulls, and heifers. This information will help track population trends, enabling the industry to predict milk production trends. Monitoring herd sizes, dairy breeds, and their locations will support the industry's educational, research, extension, and health programs. Additionally, this Measure will enhance research objectives and product quality concerning animal health, production quality, genetics, and feeding. This Statutory Measure will be administered by the Milk Producers' Organisation, a non-profit company that will provide the necessary forms to facilitate this process.
