Establishment of Statutory Measure: records and returns in respect of dried fruit (No. R. 895 of 2012).

This Regulation, made by the Minister of Forestry and Fisheries under sections 13 and 18 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996, requires all producers and exporters of deciduous dried fruit to keep such records and render the returns as may be required by the Dried Fruit Technical Services (DFTS). Each importer, packer, exporter and processor of dried fruit shall keep complete records as specfied for each calendar month in respect of dried fruit handled, imported or exported by him or her. This measure is necessary to ensure that continuous, up-to-date and accurate information relating to the products as defined, is available to all role players the in market of such products. "Dried deciduous fruit" means apricots, apples, nectarines, pears, peaches, prunes and vine fruit (raisins, seedless raisins, sultanas and currants) sujected to a drying process.
