Government Notice no. 2984 of 2023. The Publication of the annual list of all tree species protected under Section 12 of the National Forests Act (Act no. 84 of 1998).

This Notice, made under section 15(3) of the National Forests Act, no. 84 of 1998, provides for defining a list of protected trees and prevents anyone from; cutting, disturbing, damaging or destroying any protected tree; collecting, removing, transporting, exporting, trading or disposing of any protected tree, or any forest product derived from a protected tree. The Notice provides for Ministerial exemption from the provisions and related permits. The Notice defines offences in case of misconduct.
