Abstract
This Statutory Measure, implementing provisions of sections 10, 13, 14 and 15 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, no. 47 of 1996, provides for financing the following functions relating to the meat import industry: transformation of the meat sector; development of trade market, including export promotion of beef, lamb, pork and poultry; research and development; food quality control and consumer protection. The imposed levies must comply with fair labour practices in the meat importing industry. The Notice defines: how to allocate the imposed levies and funds; the products covered by this Statutory Measure; its area of application; the determination of guideline prices of products; the enforcement of levies.
